I work on Thursdays from 10-2.

I'm already down to working only Thursdays and Saturdays.

Got a call from work the other day - I no longer work on Tuesdays. /cry Now my internal calendar is going to be even more screwed up...

Still woke up early this morning, so I ran to Joann's and bought more fabric and worked on my Gryffindor robes some more. I'M BEING TOO PICKY ABOUT IT jkdsfeds It's not for cosplay so I'm trying to remind myself it doesn't have to be 100% perfect and accurate but I CAN'T HELP IIIIIT! I probably could've finished it but I got tired of it. I ended up watching Aladdin and reading Harry Potter. |Db

But fffff I just finished reading the First Task and Harry's nervousness has made me really nervous and anxious and I'm like "AAAH WHY AM I NERVOUS". xD; Stupid books.

For the duration of the meme I'm only counting my "legit" cosplays sooo this would be year 3.

- How did you get into cosplaying?
Amanda, Amelia and I just kinda went "hey that looks cool!" and did it. |D

- What was your first convention and how did it go?
Anime Expo 2006. We were only there for one afternoon and we didn't do much...I only remember waiting in a line lol.

- How many cons have you been to?
5. Anime Expos 06-09 and ALA 08.

- How many cosplays have you done?
Eight. Wow, it's starting to seem big now...

[[Your Cosplays]]

- What was your first cosplay and why did you choose it?
Yamada Hanatarou from Bleach~ he is an adorable character (WHERE ARE YOU, PLAYING CARDS WITH CAPTAIN MOM?!) and he was a tiny little boy so I felt that I could pull him off. I could also use my natural hair (dyed black) so it was much easier for me.

- What is your favorite cosplay you've done so far?
I really love Finland and Tsuna~ I suppose just because I have the most memories in those costumes, haha~ they are so fun to wear!

- What is your least favorite you've cosplayed?
Izuru. I had a terrible wig...I kind of have this little feeling deep inside where I'd like to cosplay him again someday and do him justice. But it seems that there's only a tiny, tiny handful of people in America who can cosplay Bleach properly, so it really kills any desire to cosplay Bleach. :|

- What cosplay is the most uncomfortable?
Uhhh...probably my Bleach costumes? Only because those are the costumes where I wore the most material and had to be out in the hot, hot sun. I nearly died.

- How do you research the cosplay before you make it?
I need to be into the series and like the character. If I think I can pull them off, I basically just scour the internet for references of character from each and every angle possible. I also look at other cosplayers to see how they went about making it.

- Do you sew your cosplays yourself?
I do, although if there's something simple I can buy at the store (white button-up shirt or pants) I buy it.

- If so, how did you learn to sew? If not, do you plan to learn?
I still don't consider myself as someone who knows how to sew. xD I can use a machine to forward stitch and backwards stitch. I guess I'll pick things up as I go.

- Do you make your own props?
I think the only props I've ever had were Wabisuke and the Death Note. I made Wabisuke (let's not talk about that) and I bought a Death Note at an anime store. Oh, and Amanda's dad made my lieutenant's badge!

- If so, how did you learn to? If not, do you plan to learn?
If I need to make props I look around for tutorials. I have a ton saved for a bunch of stuff I haven't even done or even plan to do. xD

- Do you style your own wigs?
Of course!

- What other skills do you use to create your cosplays?
...I don't know what you mean...so I guess No. xD;

- What skill has been most useful for making your cosplay?
Having friends who actually have skill? xDDD

Honestly, just finding the goddamn time to sit down and work on a costume.

IT IS DELICIOUS. Oh my goooood what a fantastic stroke of luck this was! I went to Albertson's after class because I needed to buy pads and I was like "I want to buuuyyyy somethinnnnng" so I looked around in the bakery section for a bit, but I feel like working in a bakery has made me an elitist bitch towards baked goods lol. |D;; I didn't want anything from the bakery section so I checked out the ice cream. I stumbled upon the Ben & Jerry's section and just instinctively started looking for Americone Dream, not expecting it when - lo and behold! there was Stephen Colbert, pointing his finger at me in a very authoritative manner, telling me to purchase this most American of American treats.

I squealed out loud. =w=b

THESE CUPCAAAAAAKES SO CUTE OMG ;w; Apparently some lady named Michelle does all the amazingly cute stuff and just AAAH she is my hero LOOK AT THE SUNFLOWERS AND THE MUMMY. SO AMAZING.

I haven't been on the internet for quite a few days. And you know what? It felt good. Like I had quite an addiction. xD; I think I'll make a point of spending less time on the interwebs. Although, naturally, the one time I'm not on the computer 24/7 is when France's character CD and Russia's and China's Maru Kaite Chikyuu come out! I am now currently listening to all 8 released versions of Maru Kaite Chikyuu in a row. It is awesome.

ANYWAYYYSSSS uh. I actually did really awesome on my last Spanish test, apparently. =w=; I LOVE CONTEXT CLUES LIKE NOBODY'S BUSINESS. But I'll start studying more.

SO GUESS WHO WENT TO A VIKING FESTIVAL TODAY?

My mom and I picked up Amanda and we headed towards Vista's Norway Hall for a Viking Festival they've been having all weekend~ it's basically a small Renaissance Fair except viking-based, although there was plenty of Celtic stuff, too. After a little bit Lynn and two of her friends met us there. All of the awesome old viking things really made me want to cosplay Polish-Swedish Wars!Finland orz

There's also a Norwegian flag behind the Denmark/Sweden flags but I was too close to squeeze it in. I figure the string of mini-flags makes up for it.

Finally turned in my FAFSA the other day; I am told I am "eligible to receive a Federal Pell Grant of up to $1900 for the 2009-2010 school year." Normally just this would be quite sufficient, but seeing as how that still leaves me with a sum of $4395 for the program fee to go to Spain (which doesn't even include the price of airfare, other airfare fees, enrollment fees, textbooks, etc.), I'm not quite as pleased as I should be. It is definitely still a big help, no doubt, but I will have to get myself into gear and start applying for other scholarships and grants to get me going. I'd prefer to keep student loans as a last resort.

I love how I can always immediately tell what part of the musical my mood icons are from. "You know who I think's the ugliest girl in school?"

Guess who's too lazy to talk about last weekend! |D *tries* Spamalot was fuuuuun~ though I felt kind of spoiler'd? My mom has listened to the soundtrack in the car a thousand times so I've heard it just as much, so I already knew all the songs. =w=; Also fhwedfrk I LOVE THE PROGRAM WE GOT OMFG xDDDD It was just your usual Monty Python-style nonsense (see: moose trainers), making fun of Finland. xD My love for Lancelot went up over 9000 holy shit just---FFFFFF. The pop culture references they threw in there were great as well. Although there was one joke where everyone laughed forever and I just...didn't...get what had happened at all. I felt really lost and dumb. =w=;;

After watching that my mom and brother and I went to Seaport Village and looked around. I bought a Finland flag pin at the Viking House because I'm a faggot and I also bought a cute hat from a hat store. I LOVE HAAATSSSS jksdhfkje god there was this one hat I wanted sooo badly but it was like $40+ or something /wrists THEY ALSO HAD THE SORTING HAT kfjhgkjre but it was too high and I couldn't reach it. ;_____; I felt like that was its way of saying "you are a muggle and even if you were a witch you are too old for Hogwarts." *CRIES*

Sunday I went with Amanda to Kinokuniya(s) to buy the new Cosmode issue with our picture in it~ I also found ONE OK ROCK's mini-album Beam of Light at Book-Off! I finally have something of theirs! ;; <33

NEW MOODTHEME ♥

God it took fuckin' forever because it wouldn't work for some reason but I managed to figure it out. SO WORTH IT THOUGH TEE HEE ♥ Now that it's working I'm not angry anymore; I'm just using this mood because I love that part. xD

I hope someday I have an excuse to use 'recumbent'. :'D

ANYWAYS THERE IS NO NEWS ON THIS FRONT, PRETTY MUCH. I closed the store again last night but after doing it once and getting all my crazy out it's not so bad anymore. =w= It took me a lot longer though because I was alone from the start of my shift so nobody helped me even a little bit like Peter did last time. But I have to remind Susan I can't close this next Saturday because I hadn't realized that SPAMALOT IS NEXT WEEKEND OMGGGGGGG! SO EXCITED!! XD

Someone else said they were going too, right? My memory is terrible. =w=;;; I am totes wearing my Finland hat so I'll be easy to spot haha.

SO I went in to work and everything was quite well and dandy. Made a couple of small mistakes, not a huge deal (though I would say not properly locking the door is a HUMONGOUS DEAL and that was the main source of my stress last night but Susan said lots of people do that all the time so it was okay).

Since I worked yesterday she said I didn't need to be there today so I went back home. I bought lettuce for my mom and got new ringtones for her.

Her ringtone is Jigglypuff singing.

Her alert for messages is Worf going "Captain, incoming message."

It's not even my phone but it made my day. :'D

I shall try and be productive today!

TODAY'S THERAPY: Reading Harry Potter and watching Disney movies.

WHAT kjfdshfkjre ahggjfhr I am having such a massive anxiety attack like fuckiunfgkjfngre FUCKFUCK I am so dumb and crazy seriously what the hell is wrong with meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee kfjrhgefr

I closed the shop all by myself today and it closes at 6 and I JUST GOT HOME like wtf it's 8:30 IS IT SUPPOSED TO TAKE THAT LONG TO CLOSE A SMALL SHOP LIKE THAT????? I've only closed the shop once before and that was with somebody who actually knew what the hell they were doing and we were done by 6:30 and shit it took me like 3.5 HOURS to finish everything and I still feel like I messed up EVERYTHING and somebody is going to break into the shop and steal/destroy everything and it will ALL BE MY FAULT and just FUCK MEEEEEEEEEE

and sdkjfhkjaerf OF COURSE LIKE WITHIN 5 MINUTES AFTER PETER HAD LEFT I HAD LIKE THE MOST EPIC FAIL EVER jshfjker because some lady came in and wanted a creme brulee and I don't know how to torch those so I spent like 10 minutes calling FUCKING HALF THE PEOPLE WHO WORK HERE AND NOBODY FUCKING PICKED UP AND SUSAN'S CONTACT LIST IS 10 KINDS OF INCORRECT LIKE WTF SERIOUSLY and finally Connie answered and I felt so bad for bothering her and I asked her how to use the torch because I couldn't get it to turn on and I HOPE I DIDN'T SCREW UP THE CREME BRULEE because idk how much sugar I'm supposed to put on it or how long I am supposed to have the fire on it and it took me SO FUCKING LONG to finally do it I just gave the lady the creme brulee for free and then RIGHT AFTER ANOTHER LADY WANTS A FUCKING CREME BRULEE //////orz but then I at least knew wtf to do (sort of) and yeah jkrwejgkf. AGHHHHHHH.

I AM SO STRESSED OUUUTTTTT FUCKKKKKKKK

And I noticed that as it got later I started rushing because I was thinking I was taking way too long and I didn't feel like I deserved to be paid all those hours since I'm such a fucking slowpoke and so I was just all "HURRY UP AND CLOSE GOGOGOGO FINISH QUICKLY DO IT GO" and then when I was finally done I rushed home (except not because I was driving the speed limit so it wasn't any faster than I usually go home but I FELT RUSHED OKAY) and it occured to me that "OH, IS THIS MY NATURAL REACTION TO STRESS? TO RUN AWAY??? JESUS CHRIST NO WONDER I AM SUCH A FAILURE AND NEVER DO MY HOMEWORK I'M SUCH AN ASS" so that was a lovely adventure in analyzing my behavioral patterns HAHAHAAAAAA.

I have work tomorrow morning and I will go in earlier so that they have time to YELL AT ME before my shift actually starts likejfdhkrekgjkerg I AM PURPOSELY GOING IN EARLY JUST TO BE YELLED AT WTF SELF??? I AM SO SAD I AM NOT THERE. ;___; I am going to make up for this tragedy by listening only to FF tonight and then tomorrow I'm gonna go out and buy their newest CD. The whole rest of tomorrow will be devoted to studying and chillaxing.

Anyways, sorry I haven't been around much! You'll be seeing a lot less of me around now that I have a full schedule. I have school Mon/Wed from 11-6:50, Tues/Thurs I have work from 10-3 and class from 6-8:20, and work on ~~Sundays from 10-3 or 2-6 (plus I work on Saturdays occasionally)~~ Saturdays from 2-close, which can take me anywhere from 8-9. I'm sure I'll cry from stress at some point during the semester but I know I would rather be this busy than doing nothing all the time.

Spanish class is going good so far~ Somehow I ended up sitting with the loud-mouthed trouble makers in the back of class. =w=;; But they're cool guys, plus there's also Chris who is more reserved like I am and we help each other out when we don't get stuff. Since I don't have my workbook yet he's been scanning his pages for me so I can still do homework. ;___; <33 I'm bringing him some mousse next week as a thank you. xD But I damn well better be getting my books in the mail this weekend! >8|

UUUH I think that's all! I have a horror story from work on Tuesday but I feel it would be best conveyed in comic-format, which is unfortunate because I don't know how to draw anymore. 8| I'LL GET IT EVENTUALLY.

I've been in such a Harry Potter mood recently. I started re-reading the books (which I've only read the series once so it's good that I'm finally doing that), I watched all the Potter Puppet Pals, and I just now finished watching A Very Potter Musical which is seriously the best shit I have seen in a long time. xD <33 GO WATCH IT FOR SRS BROS IT IS A+ MATERIAL.
Is it just me or would anyone else absolutely kill to see Alan Rickman portray Snape the way they do in the musical?

Now if you'll excuse me I have to start ripping my Draco and the Malfoys CD back onto my computer and finish reading The Philosopher's Stone.
